Sunday Post #48: Fluid Art

Ever since I saw the Youtube videos, I have been obsessed with trying fluid art. So I bought acrylic paint and a few canvases.

I briefly forgot that the paint would mix. 😆

Colors of 🇦🇲

Colors of 🇮🇪

Colors of 🇺🇸

I am pretty sure the obsession is out of my system now.

Sunday Post #28: What Do You Think? 3

I don't claim to have any talent in drawing. I draw partly because I find it calming. However, I do enjoy hearing the what people see or feel when they see my drawings. What do you think?

The trees are suppose to be coconut trees.

The shape of the window is suppose to be one that was on my sister's house.

Sunday Post # 27: A Bare Tree

This was just a five minute (completely) free-hand drawing. Out of what I drew so far, I found the bare tree to be the most calming. I may add to it, or just draw a new version of it. Your thoughts?

Sunday Post # 25: What Do You Think? 2

If I would to start drawing, I always got frustrated when the picture didn't turn as symmetrical as I would have liked. Because of this, I would just stop drawing altogether. I recently saw some beautiful artwork that was in fact asymmetrical. I realized that art did not have to be symmetrical to be art.

So, what started out with random movements of a ruler became this piece.

What do you see? Feel? Do you have an interpretation of your own?

Sunday Post #24: The Plaid Look

Last time, I revealed my  Sunday Post banner. This week I am posting another piece of art. Like I said before, I don't have much talent. Still - I draw. Here is one drawing. I was simply going for a plaid look. (I can't stress that enough.) I am trying to decide whether or not to make a plaid series.

What do you think? What do you feel? Do you have an interpretation of your own?

Solo Artist Exhibition: Dreamscapes

Every artist wants and hopes the pieces that they create are unique. I may be a bit bias, but I believe that the work of this particular artist is unique. She uses material that I never saw any other artist use.

Cathy Jacobs's solo art exhibition included this piece entiled "Eugenie Loops" was on display.

I first noticed the hollowed out circles. When I saw the title, I had planned on asking Cathy if the piece and any relation to our grandmother. Before I had the chance, however, I looked  back and saw images of Grandma in the piece. I love Cathy's style, but because the images of the woman was the reason this was my favorite piece in this exhibition.
