WWBC #35: Abilities and Pet Peeves

Hello All ! I have missed you and one previous challenge. So I have combined the to topics together.

2nd = One Sci fi Item or Ability I Wish Really Existed

I am going to answer this one as the one I wish I had. That would be psychokenisis.

This week's  = One of My Pet Peeves

Most of my pet peeves came from my place of employment. I can't stand it when people call banana peppers (or mild peppers) "pepperoncinis". The two are Not the same thing.

Note: It is unnecessary to point at each vegetable when ordering the sandwich.

Until next time....

WWBC #33: First TV Show

Hello All! It has been I while since I posted for this feature.

This week's topic: The first TV show I remember watching

That is Full House. Yes, looking back, I wonder why I watched it. But I couldn't help but love that show. (My favorite characters were Joey and Stephanie.)
The reboot? Not so much.

Until next time......

WWBC #32: Shopping and Sports

It's an odd combination, but I'll make it work.

July 10th = Do you enjoy shopping? why or why not?

Online shopping I actually do enjoy. It's like "Oh, someone sent me a gift".

As for in store, no. Especially not clothes shopping. I am probably the only woman in America that doesn't like shopping for clothes. It just feels like the security guards are watching from the cameras the whole time.

This week's topic: A sport I Want to Try

.... is Lacrosse

and you know what? I am not really sure why.

WWBC #31: Museums and Social Media

Hello All !  I missed one topic that I wanted to answer, as I've done other times, I am adding it to this week's topic.

May 29th: Museums/Galleries I've Visited/Want to Visit

On multiple occasions I have visited The Henry Ford Museum (Dearborn, MI) and The DIA (Detroit Institute of Arts). I recommend both places.

One particular museum I would like to visit is Chicago's Field Museum.

This week: My Thoughts on Social Media

If I was asked this a year ago, I would have answered that social media could have been a blessing. Now, I am going with it is (more often than not) toxic. Of course, that is not the fault of the tool itself.

Until next week...

WWBC #30: Combine Topics 3

Hello All !!!

Once again there were a couple topics that I wanted to post about, and again I missed. I also want to have posted a certain number of blog entries in the month of April, but that didn't work out either. So here are three topics for this week.

April 17th = Introvert vs. Extrovert - Which One Are You?

If I had to pick I would say that I am an Introvert. If I was being totally honest, I would say that I am neither. It's like I am just here.

24th = Songs that Confused Me When I Was a Kid.

I am sure that I am not alone on this is one. One song that definitely confused me was "Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel. If you look passed everything, it's a cool song.

This Week = How I feel About Staycations

As far as the word itself goes, it sounds very made-up to me. Of course, I guess, all words are made-up until they are added to the dictionary.

As for the activity, I' m all for it.

I do plan on posting about next week's topic, but .... well, as you can see...

Until Next time....

WWBC #29: Double Topic Week

It has been a while since I posted for the Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge. I actually wanted to answer last week's topic but obviously I missed it. So I thought that I would do this week.

Last week's topic: Books on my TBR list the Longest

I was able to clear my to be read list this past November. I believe, however, that the book on it the long was "Game Breaker (Portland Storm, #9)" by Catherine Gayle. I had wanted to read it since August of 2016 and finally did so in April of 2023. Of course I started a new TBR list in January. Thankfully, it is not as long.

This week's topic: A Moment I Wish Could Relive

I would like to relive each of my sisters' weddings. The four events were unique, mainly because of the venues, but still. I guess, if I could only pick one, it would be my eldest sister's wedding. She had to set the date three times and it just seemed it should have lasted longer.

Until next week...

(And I do mean next week 😂)

WWBC #26: First Site and Favorite Subject

 Hello All !
Welcome to my first Wednesday Blog Challenge of 2023 ! I hope it finds you well.

I wanted to post about last week's challenge, but missed it... obviously.

Last week asked: What was the first site you remember visiting?

Aside from search engines, the first site I can remember was called "Bolt.com" . I loved that site.

This week's topic is favorite school subject.

Mine was  yearbook. Yep! There was a class specifically for making the yearbook. I am proud to admit that I took that class for my junior and senior years. It was an easy A.

That is it for this week. I plan on posting the 32nd challenge.
Until then.....

WWBC #23: Book Setting

Hello All! This is my first WWBC of 2022. I hope it finds you well.

This week's question/topic is book setting you'd like to visit and why.

There are actually two setting to my answer.;

1) Hogwarts: If Hogwarts existed, I think so would its American version.

2) Red London: The Shades of Magic Trilogy deals with elemental magic.

Common factor: Magic

I just think it would be able to use magic like Harry Potter or Kell Maresh.

Until next time....

WWBC #22: Words and Books

Hello all. I have decided to combine the challenge topic from the 3rd with this week's topic.

The topic for November 3rd: Words to live By

"If You Speak Too Much, You will Learn Too Little." - Armenian Proverb

I think it is self-explanatory.

This week's topic/question: Paperback, eBook or Audio?

I take part in another weekly blog feature call Tell Me Something Tuesday. This week's topic was also included in that feature. TMST 11

I am currently listening to an audiobook called Seeking Persephone. I also am in the middle of an eBook called Pure as Snow. So far, I am enjoying the two stories.

Thank you for stopping by.

WWBC #21: Book into Movie

Hello All. I hope this week's blogging challenge find you well.

I was waiting for this topic which is - Book I Wish They'd Make into a Movie or TV Series. My answer is the Shades of Magic Trilogy by V.E. Schwab. There are two relationships that I love. The first is between Kell (the main male character) and his brother. The second is Kell and Lila (main female character).

WWBC #20: One Task

Hello All! I decided to do something different with this week's challenge.

The one task I wish I never had to do again would be making salads. I used to work at a salad restaurant. While I loved working with my co-workers and was grateful to have a job, some salads became insane. I will explain. Customers could customize their order (salad and/or sandwich). More than one customer would want so many toppings that it literally would not fit in one bowl.

Until next week....

WWBC #19: Meet My Pet

Welcome back to my Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge. I would like you all to meet Gigi.

Most dogs will bark at the slightest sound. Gigi prefers to wait until an intruder has made him/herself known.

Most dogs will wait until someone "drops" food on the ground. Gigi will see food on the floor and look at you as if to say, "You think I'm going to eat this?
We all know not to stare directly  into a dog's face. Gigi will simply stare back.

WWBC #18: Fictional Character I'd Love to Meet and Why

Hello. I hope this posts finds you well.

My answer to this week's challenge is ....

Batman

If he actually existed that would be mean that the "Bat Family" and Justice League does as well. I would ask if Batman if he would be willing to train me and join him in his mission. I would most likely get a no, but there you have it.

WWBC #17 : Favorite Outdoor/Nature Activities

Hello all.

I was a little late to post this week's blogging challenge.

So my favorite outdoor/nature activities include Volleyball. Growing my family and I would play Volleyball on the Fourth of July.

On the occasion that I would travel up north for the weekend, I would spend a few hours on a pantoon boat with other relatives.

So once more, this post didn't turn out how I would have liked, but there you have it.

See you all next week.

WWBC #16: Creative Outlets I Enjoy

Welcome back all. Yay!!! A Weekly Blogging Challenge for a second week in a row. That doesn't happen for me that often.

Anyway so far I discovered one creative outlet that I like and helps me. That is drawing. I mostly use colored pencils and a sketche book.

Here are a couple of examples:

SP 33

SP 28

I hope you take a look if you have the time and I will be back for a third week (in a row) of the wwbc.

WWBC #15: TV Shows I Binge Watch(ed)

Hello All ! I hope this post finds you well.

I am excited to post about the shows that I binge watch(ed).

In no particular order:

  • Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (once network now Netflix)
  • Derry Girls (Netflix)
  • Schitts Creek (via Netflix)
  • The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon)
  • Lucifer (not sure if it's a good idea considering the main character)
  • Miranda (via Hulu)
  • Rush (via Amazon)

I'm curious. Would the variation in show genres say something about my personality?

This post didn't turn out exactly how I would have liked, but until next time...

WWBC #14: Something I Collected as a Child

Hello again.

While it wasn't while I was a child I used to collect stickers. I started in 11th grade and only lasted about three years at most. I got the idea from my friend in high school.

I have contributed to my sister's pez dispenser collection back in the early to mid 90's. I actually have that particular collection since. Why? No clue.

My mother has an angel collection that I absolutely love.

That is it for this week's challenge.

WWBC #9: Reason Why I stopped Reading a Series that I Loved

Yes! It is that time of the ... week ... again.

In an earlier WWBC post I mentioned that one of my favorite book series was the Portland Storm.  There are seventeen (if not more) books in the series. I have read ten, five of which were audio.

When I work at a sandwich shop, I handle a lot of food prep. This included slicing the meat. I often listened to audio books while working in order to remain awake and focused. By the time I finished, the book it self was at least half way done. Since leaving, I had little need for audio books.

I guess when I really think about it, it wasn't that I made the choice to stop reading the series. It was more that I wanted to read other books just as much. I can continue reading the Portland Storm series any time I want.

This may not be an answer to the topic, but there you have it.
